Happy Birthday Stan Musial
The “Man” turned 87 this week and I’m reminded of just how great a player he was.
He endeared himself to me in 1954 when he came into Brooklyn and hit 5 homers in a double header against the hated Dodgers.
No ones statistical accomplishments have been minimized more by the “Steroidal Era.”
In 55+ years of “fandom,” I’ve never heard or read a negative word about him.
